However, I have noticed is that this has been achieved by overpowering the lower end, making the higher region sound a bit softer. Highs: the highs have no fatiguing peaks and are generally warm and smooth, and this grants a very pleasant listening experience. Sibilance is rare but still present at times. Female vocals are better than male vocals and have some intimacy, although the strong bass sometimes give them too much warmth. Instruments are generally pushed back just like male vocals, and their articulation is a bit disappointing considering the price even though their timbre is natural. If they didn’t sound at a lower volume, it’s safe to say that they would have been pretty good. Mids : the lower midrange is generally warm but male vocals are pushed backwards because of the highly intrusive midbass. Overall, if you’re a basshead, the Sonic may be your cup of tea. The bass isn’t particularly detailed, but this was something to expect considering the strong V-shaped profile. The focus is on the midbass: it is quite overpowered and has a lot of thickness that can provide a lot of energy in some genres, at the expense of a more intruding and slower bass that eats some of the lower midrange and increase the midrange thinness. Lows: sub-bass is boosted but not particularly extended and sounds a bit “static”, like if the Sonic are only able to reproduce a single note. Sound signature : the SoundPEATS Sonic have a V-shaped signature.
